Real stories of grace, calling, and the unexpected mission field.

Hazardous Travels
A memoir series exploring grace, calling, and the classroom-mission field
About Me.
I come from Filipino and Italian roots, raised by a grandmother whose kitchen felt like a chapel filled with prayerful silence and food made with intention. Childhood taught me to observe closely and listen deeply. Education became the place where discipline met curiosity. Sports taught me humility, hard work, and resilience, while early faith gave these lessons meaning and revealed that service and grace belong together.
My world opened when I joined Semester at Sea in 2012 and encountered cultures that expanded my understanding of God’s presence in both familiar routines and unfamiliar horizons. Becoming a teacher felt like the natural continuation of that journey, and serving as a Special Education teacher has shown me that the classroom is a mission field built on patience, compassion, and steady consistency.
My students helped awaken the call to write Hazardous Travels, a memoir shaped by years of reflection, travel, loss, prayer, and growth. Through writing and speaking, I hope to help others notice grace in their own stories and to show that God works quietly within every chapter of ordinary life.

A Book With a Mission!
Hazardous Travels was never meant to be just a book. From the beginning, it grew out of a desire to honor the gifts God has given men and to serve others in a meaningful way. Because of that, 50% of all author profits from this series will be be donated to charitable organizations that reflect the heart of the story: compassion, dignity and hope.

This project is about more than just sharing a memoir: it's about building something that continues giving long after the last page is read. I want every copy to become an act of service. My prayer is that these stories not only inspire readers, but also help make a real difference in the world.
A Journey in Photos

During my 2012 Semester at Sea journey, I circumnavigated the Atlantic Ocean over the course of four months and visited sixteen countries in four continents. Here are some pictures I captured from the 20k nautical mile journey!
