What is Hazardous Travels?

Hazardous Travels tells the story of how God slowly forms a young heart through family, fear, mercy, and the wide world. Drawing from childhood memories, whispered prayers, lessons learned through Scouting, and encounters across distant countries, the book explores the places where grace quietly takes root.

It reflects on the people who shape us, the losses that soften us, the moments that nearly break us, and the unexpected glimpses of God along the way. Written from a Catholic heart, the story speaks to anyone who has ever wondered whether God sees, hears, or walks beside them through seasons of uncertainty.

More than a personal narrative, Hazardous Travels also serves as a resource for spiritual formation. Its stories naturally invite reflection and discussion about fear, courage, faith, identity, family, vocation, and God’s quiet presence in ordinary life.

Designed for parish groups, schools, ministries, retreats, and families, the book invites readers not only to follow one journey but to reflect on their own. In doing so, it helps readers notice grace in daily life and move forward with renewed purpose and trust.

                                       Why Write Hazardous Travels?

Many people today feel anxious, hurried, or spiritually stretched thin. Hazardous Travels speaks into that moment by showing how God quietly forms a life through ordinary childhood experiences, unexpected encounters, and the small interior shifts we often overlook.

In a culture filled with noise and speed, the book gently reminds readers that grace often works slowly and personally, shaping our stories even in seasons that feel uncertain or unnoticed.

People today are also hungry for formation that feels real and lived, not abstract. Parish groups, schools, ministries, and families need stories that accompany rather than instruct. Hazardous Travels offers communities a narrative-based way to reflect on identity, prayer, vocation, fear, gratitude, and trust while learning to notice God’s presence in everyday life.

For those searching for hope, or quietly wondering whether God still walks with them, this book arrives at the right moment.

Mission

Hazardous Travels was written to help people recognize grace in their own lives. Many of us believe our stories are too ordinary to matter, yet God often forms us through habits, responsibilities, and quiet moments rather than through dramatic events.

The hope of this project is simple: to encourage readers to see their daily lives as sacred ground, and to remind them that God is near in the routines, conversations, challenges, and relationships that define our days.

This book is also written with a ministry mission. Fifty percent of all author profits will be donated to charitable causes, Catholic ministries, and organizations that serve families, students, and those in need. The goal is to build both a book and a movement rooted in hope, gratitude, and meaningful service.
