What is Hazardous Travels?

Hazardous Travels is the story of how God formed a young heart through family, fear, mercy, and the wide world, drawing from childhood memories, whispered prayers, lessons learned through Scouting, and encounters across distant countries to explore where grace takes root. It reflects on the people who shaped you, the losses that softened you, the moments that nearly broke you, and the unexpected glimpses of God along the way, rising from a Catholic heart while speaking to anyone who has ever wondered whether God sees, hears, or walks with them through uncertainty.

More than a personal narrative, it also serves as a tool for spiritual and human formation, offering natural entry points for reflection and discussion about fear, courage, faith, identity, family, vocation, and God’s quiet presence in ordinary life. Suited for parish groups, schools, ministries, retreats, and families, the book invites readers not only to follow your story but to examine their own with honesty and gratitude, helping them notice grace in daily rhythms and walk forward with renewed purpose and trust.

                                       Why  Write Hazardous Travels?

Many people today feel anxious, hurried, or spiritually stretched thin, and Hazardous Travels speaks into that moment by showing how God forms us quietly through ordinary childhood experiences, unexpected encounters, and the small interior shifts we often miss. In a culture of noise and speed, the book reminds readers that grace works slowly and personally, shaping our stories even in seasons that feel uncertain or overlooked.

People are hungry for formation that feels real and lived, not abstract, and parish groups, schools, ministries, and families need stories that accompany rather than instruct. Hazardous Travels gives communities a practical, narrative-based way to explore identity, prayer, vocation, fear, gratitude, and trust, helping readers notice God’s presence in the everyday. For those searching for hope or wondering whether God still walks with them, this book arrives at the right time.

Mission

Hazardous Travels was written to help people recognize grace in their own lives. Many of us believe our stories are too ordinary to matter, yet God often forms us through habits, responsibilities, and quiet moments rather than through dramatic events. The hope of this project is simple: to encourage readers to see their daily lives as sacred ground, and to remind them that God is near in the routines, conversations, challenges, and relationships that define our days.

This book is also written with a ministry mission. Fifty percent of all author profits will be donated to charitable causes, Catholic ministries, and organizations that serve families, students, and those in need. The goal is to build both a book and a movement rooted in hope, gratitude, and meaningful service.
